Penn Shades is a family-owned window treatment and smart film business based in Moon Township, PA. We sell and install across the greater Pittsburgh area — from East End row houses to Sewickley new builds, Cranberry suburbs to downtown commercial offices. Every project is measured in person, ordered to fit, and installed by the same team that quoted it.
The window treatment industry has a problem: most of the products you see at big-box stores are stock sizes that don’t fit Pittsburgh’s housing stock, and most of the installers are contractors hired by the day. We built Penn Shades to be the opposite — a local team that handles the whole project, end-to-end, with the same people every time.

2. Professional measuring. Every window measured by an installer, not by you. We catch the odd-size windows, the deep casings, the arched tops, the plaster walls — all the details that off-the-shelf treatments fail at.
3. Fixed quote on the spot. We write up your project with itemized pricing. No follow-up estimates, no “we’ll get back to you,” no surprise upcharges between order and install.
4. Order & production. Standard roller and cellular shades ship in 10–14 days. Custom drapery, romans, and shutters run 4–8 weeks because each is sewn or built to your exact specs. We keep you posted on production status.
5. Install. One visit for most projects, 1–3 hours per room. The team that measured your windows is the team that installs. We clean up before we leave.
6. Lifetime workmanship warranty. Something fail later? Call us. We come back and fix it at no charge — for the life of the install.
